Aussie comic series XCT launches Kickstarter for issue #2

Posted January 22, 2015 by Dominic Barbiran in Comics & Manga

Xtreme Champion Tournament Issue #2 needs your help getting funded!

After the success in Australia of their prior issues, Xtreme Champion Tournament (or XCT) has another Kickstarter for issue #2, in the hopes of gauging worldwide interest and gaining self-sufficiency. This follows on from their previous Kickstarter for issue #0 and issue #1, which was successfully funded back in March 2014. Issue #0 generated enough money to pay their production team (inkers, pencilers, designers etc), as well as cover the costs of printing and shipping the first issue, and funding the XCT website.

By taking to Kickstarter once more, they’re able to give more back to the fans who helped them succeed. This time, the money will be used more for the backer rewards and promotional materials, as well as printing and shipping for the second issue. High-paying backers can expect to receive incentives such as:

  • T-Shirts
  • Art Prints (from artists Royce Sutherland, Chris McQuinlan, Dave Atze, Jerry Gaylord, Mike Bowden and Carlos Herrera)
  • Variant covers of issue #2
  • One of three statues of Spartacus

You can also expect more incentives to be unlocked if they reach targeted funding and start unlocking the stretch goals. Additional art prints are already promised as part of the stretch goals, but information on the content of the others is locked away tight, so start pledging if you want to see what more they have in store. Check out shots of some of the backer incentives below:

The story of XCT is steeped in ancient myth and legend, where archaeologists in 2069 have discovered the remains of many of the creatures, heroes, villains and monsters believed to be folklore. Clones have been developed from the extracted remains, and have been forced to fight each other for the world’s entertainment, in a brutal sport known as the Xtreme Championship Tournament. Issue #2 hopes to continue what issues #0 and #1 have started, by introducing a major villain, Baykok, into the ongoing story of the newly resurrected Spartacus.

The XCT series promises its fans “great quality art, enticing scenes of action, adventure, mystery, humor and intrigue”. Check out some excerpts of the first issue below and see for yourself:

The artists behind the early issues, penciller Jerry Gaylord and inker Alex Sollazzo, worked together to create a vivid and striking art style that we can’t wait to pour our eyes over. Issue #2 sees newcomers Wilson Go and Penny Gaylord helping out, and Jerry has already signed on to do issues #3 and #4 of XCT, to be released later this year.

The Kickstarter ends on 26th February, 2015 so there’s plenty of time in-between to donate, but if you want some of the limited, early-access incentives you oughta get in quick. Visit their Kickstarter page now, and help give new light to Australia’s comic book scene!

First of all I would like to say terrific blog!
I had a quick question that I’d like to ask if you
do not mind. I was curious to find out how you center
yourself and clear your mind prior to writing.
I’ve had a hard time clearing my mind in getting my ideas
out. I truly do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10
to 15 minutes tend to be lost just trying to figure out how to begin.
    Any ideas or hints? Kudos!

Many of these new creations are about shape and texture as much as color and style.
The world is really shrinking and ideas are being shared around the globe at
a rapid pace. Toe Size: The right shoe will not only fit well but will also be flexible in the toe area, with
enough space for your feet to relax, without being pinched in very tight.

Hello Web Admin, I noticed that your On-Page SEO is is missing a few factors, for one you do not use all three H tags in your post, also I notice that you are not using bold or italics properly in your SEO optimization. On-Page SEO means more now than ever since the new Google update: Panda. No longer are backlinks and simply pinging or sending out a RSS feed the key to getting Google PageRank or Alexa Rankings, You now NEED On-Page SEO. So what is good On-Page SEO?First your keyword must appear in the title. Then it must appear in the URL.You have to optimize your keyword and make sure that it has a nice keyword density of 3-5% in your article with relevant LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing). Then you should spread all H1,H2,H3 tags in your article.Your Keyword should appear in your first paragraph and in the last sentence of the page. You should have relevant usage of Bold and italics of your keyword. There should be one internal link to a page on your blog and you should have one image with an alt tag that has your keyword….wait there’s even more Now what if i told you there was a simple WordPress plugin that does all the On-Page SEO, and automatically for you? That’s right AUTOMATICALLY, just watch this 4minute video for more information at. Seo Plugin
