Super Smash Bros News Galore!

Key information revealed about the Wii U version of Super Smash Bros has been detailed.

In the most recent Nintendo Direct, Nintendo revealed an ABUNDANCE of info regarding the new Super Smash Bros game for the Wii U, due to launch in November/December this year – depending on where you live.

  • Eight Player Mode – You can now play locally with 8 players on special, larger maps that were crafted to accommodate the larger number of players
  • Online Multiplayer Options – You can team up locally with friends and search for matches online together. Besides this, there are voice chat features for before and after battles along with multiple online tournament options.
  • A Custom Stage Creator – Utilizing the GamePad, players can make their own stages easier than before 


  • Importing Fighters – Those who own the 3DS version will be immediately able to import their custom characters and Mii Fighters, including customized equipment, costumes and hats to the Wii U version for battle.
  • New Modes – A TON of new modes were revealed including Smash Tour, Special Orders, Coin Battles, Stamina Matches, Classic Mode, All-Star Mode and Event Mode


  • Mewtwo – Available as a free downloadable character in Fall 2015 for anyone who has registered both the 3DS and Wii U versions of the game on Club Nintendo
  • Masterpieces – A menu that allows you to delve into the pasts of some of your favorite fighters, even letting you play short versions of the games that made them legends
